First of all, wow! What an amazing book! I felt I saw a movie. Quest for Kriya is a story that can only be written by someone who has seen different cultures, has traveled and grown as an individual in different cultures.

It’s a love story at its very core, even though the together time for the lead characters is less. And that’s the best part because they are connected, not just by their names, but also destinies. Without giving away the plot, it’s the story of Shiva who works in Silicon Valley and Shakti who is an earthquake survivor (the earthquake that hit Latur, India). The story is very well crafted and each and every character can be visualized really well. There is humor, philosophy, fun, dark, gritty and above all, the connect between Shiva and Shakti, the element of who are destined to meet …. will meet. The antagonist is pure evil and the language is in line with his evil side.

Loved reading the book thoroughly. One can easily visualize this to be a good Hollywood/Bollywood movie in the near future. Don’t miss it, get your copy and invest your time in a good read. Very well written Rahul, as a first time writer, the story line and the writing style is fantastic! The Mumbai references to the Bus no. from Versova, a few references to Salman Khan. Awesome! Can’t wait for the next release!

It is an awesome and engaging book. Especially the last part of the story is full of suspense. Once I started reading I wanted to read more and was curious to know what will happen next. End was great!

'Quest for Kriya' is author Rahul Deokar's debut novel and what a smashing entry into the literary world!!!! It has all the makings of a Bollywood movie. Right from the beginning the author takes you on a roller coaster ride in this romantic thriller. He has beautifully created the main characters Shiva and Shakti and you start to imagine the characters right in front of your eyes. There is not a single dull moment in the book and one doesn't feel like putting the book down once you start reading it. Congratulations Rahul!!! Eagerly waiting for your next one.

This masterpiece storytelling skillfully blends altruism, hedonism, individualism and triumph over fear and evil, in a simple and candid narrative. Shiva and Shakti's triumph against the adversities encourages the reader to live their lives with sanguinity and purpose - with the body and mind working together in unison - as kriya.
This story keeps you riveted and takes you across 3 continents and cultures with ease.... and love the Salman Khan character injection !

I really enjoyed the story
This story kept my attention, even to the point of thinking what might happen next when I didn't have the time to sit down and read. The scenery in Latur and Thailand both was so well written you could see it in your mind's eye. The characters and their stories keep you on your toes, as they wind their way through the story and into your heart.
An exciting and intriguing tale full of adventure, drama, and love.
The story takes you to three different locations. Only the person who has traveled these locations can pen it down.
Great book. Couldn't put it down. Suspense, love story, thriller. I started reading it without expectations. Now I can't wait for the next one.
First of all Congratulations to Rahul for bringing out this first book of his. Well composed book illustrating author's mastery of cultural sensitivities of various characters, historical perspective, language, and of course the plot. Story is fast paced, intriguing, thrilling, insightful to human psyche, and is about our zeal to overcome all odds. Protagonists are real and face day to day problem, still author carries them with us in their journey in a mystic, spiritual way showing regional, geographical diversity, human spirit (and follies) and never loosing sight of bigger plot. Best wishes for the next book and hope to see more of Kriya...
Rahul Deokar is a new, up and coming author who doesn’t miss a beat in his first written book, Quest for Kriya. With some books out there you would expect them to be picturesque, but within this book a story is brought to you that entails the trials and tribulations of life. A sense you get while reading is the good, the bad, and the ugly. Vice and virtue at its best. For all characters and readers it is a journey in life that encompasses soul searching. Subliminally, a prospective message you may receive from this book is that the fate that one chooses from moment to moment becomes a factor in this journey of life. So for all intent and purposes Quest for Kriya embodies consciousness and awareness in a creative storytelling way. But you be the judge of that.
Quest for Kriya is a fantastic thriller which kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the book. The author has done a nice job at narration which mixes fiction with real time events. I liked the way the story is told as you can relate with some of the incidents that happened in history and how that would play on the minds of those affected in such events. The main characters, Shakti and Shiva are well developed throughout the story with a deep soul and intriguing past, complete with their feelings and lessons. There is diversity and depth with all the characters in the book which in fact reflects the reality of the people we encounter in our lives.
Overall, I felt the author did a great job and left some intriguing unanswered questions which would make you to want more !
